MJ Shows Up at Stingray Chevrolet Unveiling Of 2010 Camaro Despite Bubba The Love Sponge Fans

May 6, 2009 by Showroom Logic · 4 Comments

I’m not taking any sides here as I’ve never listened to MJ, but I do occasionally listen to Bubba The Love Sponge at the shop. I’m not really sure of the actual facts, however I know there is a lawsuit going on between the two. If you have time you can read the actual lawsuit here.

Tonight we attended the unveiling of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro courtesy of Stingray Chevrolet in Plant City, Florida.  Apparently Stingray Chevrolet hired MJ to cover the auction they had to benefit a few local charities. The proceeds from this Camaro would go to “Unity In The Community” which benefits Meals On Wheels, The United Food Bank and The Boys & Girls Club. It was a great spread and hundreds of people attended. There was a live band, free hot dogs and burgers, chips, soda and many other drinks. They even had a free raffle to win Ipods, a Digital Camera and a 32″ LCD Flat Screen TV. The biggest prize was the TV, and when the winning ticket number was called, the holder of that ticket wasn’t present. Imagine that? They had to call another number to find a winner.

Today I heard “rumors” that some Bubba fans were going to show up and cause some problems. Apparently some extra security had to be called in just in case. Since, this legal battle has been going on for some time, I was curious if anything was going to happen.

I arrived at Stingray around 4:30. As soon as I walked inside, I saw a guy wearing a Bubba The Love Sponge T-Shirt. I kept my eye on him for a while just out of curiosity. After an hour or so, I was standing outside the front entrance when a Deputy came up to me and asked me to move because MJ was pulling into the parking lot.

You can see from this video, a Bubba fan was waiting for him (you’ll see him at the end of this short video wearing a black T-Shirt and Shorts:

MJ was suppose to drive right up the ramp, but he decided to bang a right and park elsewhere. Soon thereafter, he got out of his car and walked right up to the Bubba fan and appears to be videotaping him with a cell phone:

Immediately after MJ walked into to Stingray, I got a photo of the Chubby Bubba Fan as he was being recorded by another porky fellow. This was the only member of Bubba’s Army to show up wearing a T-Shirt. Whatever he was there to do, he lacked the balls to do anything and just ended up looking stupid.

I then went into Stingray Chevrolet and MJ was at the podium taking a video of the crowd with a big smirk on his face:

I did hear Bubba talk a bit about the lawsuit last week on the radio, but I really don’t know the facts. Please educate us below on your thoughts and feelings on this subject. All real posts will be published…please watch your language or I will not approve it. Also, you spammers from India….don’t waste your time with comment spam.

So anyway, let’s get to the show. It was a great turnout with some awesome Camaros. I couldn’t even get a shot of the new Camaro because there were so many people around it. Here are some other photos of the event:

I was not aware that there was an actual lawsuit going on between MJ and Bubba. Good to know. I personally listen to MJ pretty much every morning.

  2. Susan says:

I was there, it was all MJ fans. Only 1 soldier of Bubba’s Army was there and he had no sack (he was a coward)

  3. Michael says:

I was actually listening to Bubba that day. He said since it was an open/everyone welcome event that everybody should show up and support Stingray Chevrolet. He also advised them not to start any problems or do anything stupid.

  4. I’ve been listening to Bubba lately at my shop in North Lakeland. Something around here interferes with the reception of 102.5. Can someone from Bubbas Army come by and help me get the station in? Too much hissing going on!
